Over 2 crore youths will get jobs in next 3-4 years: UP CM Adityanath

More than two billion youth will get jobs in the next three to four years under the 'Mission Rozgar' campaign led by the Uttar Pradesh government, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day 'Lucknow Kaushal Mahotsav' on Sunday, Adityanath said that by developing the skills of the UP youth, the state can play the role of an engine for the growth of the country's economy.

The government has launched 'CM Apprenticeship Training' and under this program seven and a half lakh youth in the state will be included, the Chief Minister said at an event jointly organized by the National Skill Development Mission and the Uttar Pradesh government.

Under the apprenticeship scheme, government and industry jointly award honorarium to youth studying in universities and colleges, he said. They will be combined with experiential work and new training.

“The presence of 112 companies at this festival proves that we have potential. The move to connect thousands of youth with jobs and employment is in line with the campaign to link Uttar Pradesh scale to skills,” he said. The UP CM pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's National Skill Development Mission has given a new identity, platform, and flight to the aspirations of millions of youth in the country.

He said that during the last six years, the state government has done skill development of 16 lakh youth through PM Skill Development Mission, Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission and Shram and Seva Yojana.

“A few days ago, our government entered into an agreement with Tata Technologies to connect the youth of Uttar Pradesh with skill development. As a result, 35,000 young people will receive on-the-job training and apprenticeships,” he said. The companies coming to the state have been told to contribute to the skill development of the youth in the place where they plan to set up their industries, the Chief Minister said. “Now our youth will not have to move because they will get jobs in villages and districts. UP will be able to play the role of the growth engine of the country's economy,” he stated.
